This website

This site does not track you. There are no advertising or analytics trackers, and we use just one cookie: a preference cookie (dj-lang) that remembers which language you picked if you click NL or EN yourself. Beyond that we count visits anonymously: for each page viewed we store the language, your browser's time zone, the site you came from and whether you are on a phone or a computer. No name, number or IP address is attached; none of it can be traced to a person.

There is one form: the waitlist. We store what you choose to fill in: your email address and language, and optionally your name, phone number, who you are joining as, how you found us and what you look forward to. We only use it to email you about the launch, based on your own sign-up. We keep your sign-up until six months after the launch at the latest; after that we delete the list. Want off sooner? Email contact@djensur.com and we will delete everything you shared with us.

When you submit that form we also store your IP address, in a separate table that only counts how often one address submits within ten minutes. It exists purely to stop someone firing the form hundreds of times in a row, it sits apart from your sign-up and we use it for nothing else. We do this based on our legitimate interest in keeping the form usable.

The distance counter on the homepage estimates how far you are from her stage in Seoul. That estimate comes from our own hosting provider, which already handles your connection when the site loads; your IP address does not go to an extra party for it and we store none of it. We do this based on our legitimate interest in making the counter work. If you tap "exact distance", your device asks once for your precise location: those coordinates are only used on your device to compute the distance and never leave it. Say no and the estimate stays, and if even that fails we show no distance.

The founder login at /founder stores a session token in the browser storage of that device after signing in. That is purely functional and does not track you.

Who we are

Djensur is a dance app made by Niko Zeldenthuis, trading as Djensur, in the Netherlands. We are responsible for your data. Questions or a request: email contact@djensur.com.

What the app keeps

Your account (name, email), your profile (bio, gender, country or province, photo), your date of birth for the age check, your uploaded choreos and the processed result, your practice stats and self-assessments, your friends, your community posts and comments, and your chat messages.

Chat messages disappear automatically after 30 days. We do not use your data for ads, place no trackers in the app and never sell your data.

What the app measures

To see whether the app performs well on every device, we send four kinds of technical data to our own server in Europe. One: a heartbeat — when the app is opened, with your platform and the app version. Two: performance figures from the cut-out and the stage, such as frame rate and waiting times, together with your device model. Three: error reports when something goes wrong, with the place in the app and the technical error message. Four: when you send us a report yourself or the app closes unexpectedly, a short technical log of what the app was doing at that moment, cleaned of personal data.

None of it contains camera footage or video. We only use it to make the app faster and more stable, based on our legitimate interest. Delete your account and this data goes with it.

Processed on your device

Djensur processes your live camera feed entirely on your own device; none of it gets uploaded. Recordings of your sessions live on your device and only go online when you share them or publish them in the community.

Choreo videos you upload are processed on your device and stored only as the processed result, so your library is available on all your devices.

Who we share with

Only the services needed to run the app: Supabase with European data hosting for your account and data, Cloudflare for storing your processed videos, and Apple and Google for the app stores and notifications. We sell your data to no one.

Minimum age 13

Djensur is for users aged 13 and over. If you are under 13 you cannot create an account yet. We ask your date of birth to check this and do not verify identity. If you are under 16, protected mode is on: your profile is private, strangers cannot message you, and things stay quiet between 22:00 and 07:00. You cannot switch that mode off yourself. If you think someone under 13 has an account anyway, email contact@djensur.com.

Your rights

You can view, correct and delete your data, restrict processing, object to it, port it and withdraw consent you gave.

Deleting is something you do yourself in the app; see below for how. For the other requests email contact@djensur.com; we respond within the statutory term.

Deleting your account and data

You do this yourself in the app, in three steps: open Settings, choose "Delete my data" and confirm. Your account, profile, choreos, stats, messages and community contributions are then erased irreversibly and you can no longer log in.

If the in-app route does not work, email us at contact@djensur.com from the email address on your account and we will delete it for you.

Filing a complaint

Not happy with how we handle your data? Email us first, we are glad to fix it. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
